Belonging to our family for six generations an old barn surrounded by gardens and orchards was carefully rebuilt in 2017 and adapted into two contemporary guest houses breathing history and tradition.
The architectural project, interiors, and furniture were designed by Mezzo Atelier which has also involved local artisans into the production process of custom made furniture and objects. In 2018 Pink House was awarded the Architecture Prize “Paulo Gouveia”.
Main House
Pink house offers wide opens spaces spread over two floors with a simple contemporary aesthetics, allowing the rural and timeless character of the pre-existing barn to remain. The house accommodates five to seven people. The two bedrooms are located on the ground floor while the living room and kitchen are on the 1st floor, opening up to an upper terrace.
Pink Studio
Our 30sq. cosy private suite offers an equipped kitchenette and an open living and dining room and is ideal for couples or small families. The bedroom and living area are divided by custom made wooden furniture so we could keep the space open and full on natural light. The suite also offers a private terrace with outdoor furniture.
The Island
São Miguel is one of Azores 9 nine Atlantic islands, only a two-hour flight from Lisbon. Our property is very close to the island’s main city, Ponta Delgada, but still one can enjoy the pleasures and calm of a rural area. The historic center can be reached in 7 minutes by car. The houses are 15 minutes drive away from the airport and the nearest beach is only 10 minutes away. We’ll provide useful information about sightseeing, the best places to hike, swim or eat like locals.
